I Love Old People

Conversation I had last night with a customer over the phone:

Him: "Well, tell you what. I'm out the door to work in 12 minutes. Then when I get home we are going on a 2 week vacation. So you either sell this thing to me now, or never. Your choice, miss."

Me: "That's fine, sir. I just do need to ask for eligibility purposes, are you between the ages of 18 and 69?"

Him: "Let me ask you. Where were you in 1973?"

Me: "Um... I guess I would have been about 13 years from being born, sir."

Him: "Uh-huh. Well I was over in Vietnam that year. So I assure you I ain't no 18, that's for sure!"

Me: "Well, that's just fine then! Now, I also need to ask, have you in the past 2 years been diagnosed or treated by a medical doctor for any serious illness such as cancer?"

Him: "Not cancer... but see, I was diagnosed by a doctor as crazy."

Me: "Oh... really."

Him: "Yeah. I'm crazy for going to the same damn job that I hate for 14 years. Oh, and I have an addiction too. Apparently, I'm addicted to putting food on the table for my family, and for wanting a roof over my head. The nerve of me!"

Me: "Well, sir... I would imagine a lot of Americans could have that same diagnosis."

And we made that sale in 7 minutes! This is why I love old people.

Favorite Recipe

I learned how to make these super simple quesadillas in Tennessee when I lived there. I loved them, and still do... :)You just... fry it, kinda, two tortillas...

The only ingrediants are refried beans, tortillas, and cheese.
And of course any toppings you might enjoy along with that.

I love them, I could eat them plain, but theya re so much better cooked.
My favorite meal, easily.

It's A Job

Yup... There you got it... I'm a telemarketer now.

Q: How did I get this job?
A: I became desperate.

Q: Will it be worth it?
A: Let's see...$11.50 an hour, full time, M-F 8-4:30... yeah.

Q: What in the world do I sell, anyway?
A: Insurance, actually. I work on behalf of Wells Fargo Bank.

Q: Am I good at it?
A: Yes. Am I not good at anything? lol

Q: Do I like it?
A: Haven't decided yet.

Q: Do I know what you're going to say next?
A: sigh... yes, and I won't call you, I promise.
